When I think of how many most excellent photos I recorded with my Retina
I folder ~ my very first serious camera! As little more than a kid!
And so many other very rudimentary follow-on cameras...and I had very
good luck with them. Photo images far superior my skill level, now that
I look back on them.
And today I do NOT get the same spontaneity in my shots as I had back then.
Of course, I am what has changed...
Back then, as I recall it, I was only interested in capturing images. I
used what I had, no matter what it was, and did the best job I could.
I had a great desire to record images.
Not to "take photos..."
I think I might be over-saturated by my equipment. I think I ought to
keep say four cameras only.
Two digital, two 35mm, and only the best lenses that fit each, and put
the rest up for sale.
Boy, I read that and know it's true, but then...what about my 6X6
folder? Keep it?
My beautiful little 4X4 TLR? Keep it?
A real dilemma... separating being a collector from image recording as a
photographer.
Thanks for bringing it to a head.
I've got some thinking to do.
