I primarily got it because my wife wanted a leg set that would allow
mounting the center column at 90 degrees for macro photography. As a
bonus, it seems to support the Crown Graphic very well. Anyone ever
use one? Any thoughts or comments?
I use the 3021 Pro legs but with a different head. That horizontal
column feature comes in handy once in a great while. I very seldom use
the center column. The legs extend enough that I can shoot at almost eye
level without it. My standard set-up is a 3055 quick release ball head
mounted on the legs using that little gizmo you'll find on the bottom of
the center post. That allows me to open the legs to horizontal and put
the tripod flat on the ground for low level macro work. That is an
extremely useful feature and I use it a lot.
Be careful with that little clip-on thing on the legs. It pops off a lot
and you'll need that little wrench to tighten the leg clamps.
