Thanks for the replies folks; Cotty: OK, booking online for the London Eye seems to be the way to go, they even tell you when it will be sundown. August 16 - 18 we're still in Orkney, We'll be in London from September 10 - 22.
Mike: 13 days in London? Believe it or not this is so that we can take things at a slower pace. We also get a better B&B deal by booking for two weeks, so the extra time isn't as expensive as it sounds. Dave: you're on the money here, National Trust of Australia has reciprocal rights with NT & NT Scotland. Hopefully the locals can get me a card in time. Bob: I found the Snappy snaps website but it didn't really say whether they'll do E6, although they can cross process if I want. They also do B&W, but no mention of MF. I'll ask the Glasgow branch when I get there (our first port of call). Thanks again, Paul
