I use one of those Portable Hard Discs which are able to download directly from CF to the HD using their internal battery.
One example is the Xdrive pro (IIRC)... give it a look, it worth it's money, what's the point of having a digital camera when you cannot shoot freely because of CF space? Those little discs are 40 or more GigaBytes bye, Danilo
