It really doesn't matter, no manufacturer makes all of their drives, they are a commodity item. To fill their lines manufactures just buy the size's they don't make from someone else and slap their label on them.
Well, then, whoever is making WD drives isn't doing as good as whoever is making Maxtor, SeaGate or Fujitsu. I agree it doesn't matter who is making them, but it doesn't alter the fact that my comuter builders won't use them, or that this is not the first time I have heard complaints of WD problems.
