I think it's kind of a cool shot. It has sort of a "Blair Witch Project" feel to it. The tilt, the high contrast, all that foliage: I think it sort of conveys one's emotions when encountering such a beast in the forest. It's as if the bear is almost like a spectre, way over there. My only criticism would be that the bright OOF branches hanging down into the frame in the foreground are a bit of a distraction. If they could be burned a bit to tone them down somewhat, they might be less distracting, while still giving us the feeling of being deep in the woods.
