Hi! > http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/enough-already.shtml
Shel, I must admit this is one of the best pieces on the subject I've recently had pleasure reading... Now, it would seem to be a good time for the rant of my own. 1. What I do not. I do not make my living from photography. Hence I do not need to make prints bigger than 20x30 or 30x45 cm. I do not have access to a truly professional lab that will process my film in a truly professional manner. I do not have a friend who would be willing to process me my films *at all times*. I do not have access to Imacon scanner. 2. What I do. I do love photography. And I do want to study/practice/improve it further. I do have a friend who can process my films *from time to time*. 3. Conclusions that I make from what I read and from the above points. Digital will suit me just fine. As such, Pentax *istD is perfect camera from me. I mean that based on my understanding of Mr. Meyers' article. It has perfect size, weight, ergonomics, response time, ease of operation. Again, it is perfect but for me personally. I do agree with Mr. Meyers' opinion about lenses. That's why I've been buying limited lenses. So, I will take what I've just read into account. Hence I keep shooting film, even ;-) b/w film. Well, rant is over. -- Boris
