Inkjet and dye sublimation printing technologies are much better for photographic work today.

There are some new, high-end volume printing machines using electrostatic transfer (the basis for laser printers) coming into the market, but they're targeted at volume printing work.

These printers are getting cheaper and cheaper.  How does the quality
compare with a good inkjet (for printing photos)?

Are they worth considering, or do they have a long way to go?
