Yesterday I got stung by a wasp and it got infected so the following may not
come to pass if my hand gets much worse (already on antibiotics)

There is a real rodeo (small town type) occuring close to town that a friend
and I are planning on shooting and I will go digital. We own a Sony point
and shoot digital but tomorrow I will be using a Nikon D1X. The price of the
camera was about right.. I have to bring ice for his beer! Needless to say I
do not get to keep the camera. Going to also try to upgrade to the D2X when
he isn't looking.

Anything greatly different shooting DSLR compared to SLR? I did play a
little bit with the camera this afternoon but it was difficult to do much
with the one finger getting in the way. So far I have learnt that I will
have to bring my glasses along to use the camera but that seems the way with
the Sony, the MZ5n and the Canon XL1. Back in the days when the Spotmatic F
was new I never needed glasses for photography so all this minaturation is
bad.

Will also take the Pentax system for black and white and in case run out of
storage as he only lent me to 512 cards and maybe will have a 1 GB as well
but each 512 seems to be about one roll of film. I have only held the D and
the DS in stores but right now I can say the Nikons sure are BIG!
