Forgot to answer your question about Dane Elec. Nope. Never heard of
them. But I'm not up to speed on storage devices. I use my laptop,
which has both advantages and disadvantages. On the computer I can see
that the files are actually there before I delete them from the card.
Can that be done with a storage device? I wouldn't mind having
something smaller and perhaps faster.

I'll take a look at the Costco site. I understand what you're saying
about the wide angle problem. However, I was never a big fan of wide.
I use it only as needed. For now the DA 16-45 is getting it done for
me. It's a good lens. I've shot a lot of car interiors with it. No
complaints thus far. (My widest prime was the K24, so I'm right where
I was.) I'll probably buy the 12-24 as well when it becomes available.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for asking. Check the Costco website for memory prices:

They have a 60 gig portable storage device for $179, too. Ever heard
of
Dane-Elec?
I'm ambivalent on digital. I love the usual advantages: immediate
gratification, etc., but don't like the fact that my wide angle
lenses are
not so wide angle any more. The latter is a big deal for me, my FA
35f2 was
my favorite lens. No longer.
I carry both the ist D and the MZ-S when possible. I would like
digital a
lot more if it weren't for the magnification factor.

Yes, I picked up an extra card when I was there a few weeks ago. How
are you doing with digital, Bill? Are you like it? Shooting a lot?
Still shooting film as well? Inquiring minds want to know?

Costco is now showing this camera on their e-mail bargain sheet for
$3899. That's the best price I've seen on it. It's an unusual item
for
this big box store. But then again, they have surprised me before
with
big-ticket good stuff.
