Hi, A friend of mine, a Leica user, has used a black Sharpie to fill in the lettering on the beauty ring of some of his Leica lenses. Combined with gaffer tape over the infamous red dot, or, on one of his bodies, a replacement black dot (Did you know about the limited run of black dots, Juan? http://www.cameraquest.com/jpg3/lhsam6f2.jpg ), his cameras are gorgeous "stealth machines." There was also a run of M6 bodies that had neither the red dot nor the Leica name on the front of the top plate. It just said M6.
However, apart from any other considerations, some people just don't like advertising the products they use. Shel > [Original Message] > From: Juan Buhler > > Puzzled.
