does this happen every time you turn on the camera? if it does, you haven't
finished setting up your camera or you didn't install the backup battery.

When I turn the camera on, the first thing that comes up is the initial
settings screen to set language, home, and DST. I then have to press the
shutter button to put the camera in a mind to shoot.
