I am, of course, not refering to TTL mode. I actually never tried this technique with the AF280T, which apparently doesn't have the ASA settings connected to the electronic controllers.
I normally use Metz-45 or Metz-60 flashes which seem to work differently. For the reasons mentioned earlier, I harly ever use a flash in bright daylight. I know PJ's do it all the time. I never understood why. I believe light looks better comming from above.
