I don't agree because its not that simple. What you say is right but its not the whole story. If someone is going to start from scratch, WHY IN THE WORLD would they choose pentax? Pentax is inferior mount to both canon and minolta because those companies made the leap to a newer more modern lens mount when they went to AF but pentax hasn't. Pentax chose to go with compatability instead but now there trying to change their mind without changing or updating the mount. If you are new buyer you get WORST of both worlds by choosing pentax. NO new mount and no old compatabity. I would NEVER recommend Pentax to anyone now who is starting from scratch, I would and I have repeatedly recommended Canon EOS because they have a modern mount and they are way ahead of minotla who also has a more modern mount. And if you buy a new DSLR body and then have to replace all your high performance lenses because pentax doesn't support them in the way you need to use them, then you ARE essentially starting from scratch so the switch to Canon would be much smarter IMHO than starting from scratch with pentax. The main reason to stick with pentax always was they made progressions without losing compatability of K/M, if that gone, theres nothing left to like about Pentax IMHO. Just my take on it...
