Well, my laptop has an (apparent) granularity of 1%, and Windows XP's Power
Meter also (allegedly) reads to 1%, and the two readings agree within 2%
most of the time, so I guess that they are a whole lot better than the
"full", "half-full" (or "half-empty"), and "empty" DS scale.  However, I do
have to admit that the laptop battery is a "known quantity" - my laptop
does not give me the option of substituting, say, a bunch of AA's - <g>.
