i don't see APS being a problem, and i don't see anyone owning a *istD willing to pay what it costs for much greater than 10MP. the Nikon D200 is rumored to be 10MP and come in at around $2500, and just a little less than that is what i figure the *istD replacement will come in at. i think that just like the *istD is very similar in features and performance to a D100, the *istD replacement will be very similar to the D200. i don't think the first time was a coincidence and i don't think this time will be either. people here haven't started to think about it yet, but a 10MP sensor in the same APS size will be more demanding on lenses than the *istD. unless you have excellent lenses, the extra resolution may not buy you any extra enlargement capability.

Yes, its a good start, but still lands Pentax in second/third place to
the others. I guess Pentax has dug themselves into APS sensor and I will
have to wait and see if the 645D comes to being.
