The Nikon predated the Pentax. Howewver, the Pentax mount doesn't flex with a 80-200/2.8 lens (see user comments on photo.net) like the Nikon does. Nor does its tripod socket flex like the Nikon (see Galen Rowells comments). Still the Nikon is the semi pro body while the Pentax is strictly for amateurs according to urban legend. Incidentally, the camera shares exactly the same shutter unit. I don't even like the Z-1p.... Pål
