I would also point out that the taxi driver, being a professional, well,
taxi driver, should have known about the marathon months in advance.
It's one of the biggest in the world and they've been doing it (on the
same weekend, on the same route) for 20 or so years now!
He probably just thought he could bluster his way through. He was, as I
have noted, a taxi driver ;-)
