We bought a Whirlpool in 1995, and it has served us very well (faultless) up to three days ago. So we bought another one. For 360 euros we've got the biggest model (31l). Time will tell if Whirlpool quality has gone down the toilet over the last 10 years.

Whirlpool is piece of *****

Had two of them and they failed miserably very quickly.
The Samsung's still there... and it did NOT cost 360 euros...

Quite possible. In fact, I also wrote

However, things can change. It's common practice for manufacturers to start with low-end products and then expanding their range toward the higher-end
ones, and Samsung looks to be doing that.

The day before yesterday, I had to buy a new microwave oven.
In the big store there was a 99 Eur "best deal" there, but my wife wanted a
good one, hence we bought a 360 Eur model. Guess which of the two was the
Samsung and which one the Whirlpool?
