Lithium AA is the most foolproof way to go. You'll get about 1000 exposures from a set, almost the save as CR V3, and they're quite a bit more affordable. Many of us have experienced problems with rechargeables. Alkaline are only for emergency use. Too short a life, and (apparently) too much voltage fluctuation as they drain.

Primary batteries are best avoided for anything other than long-term, low useage devices. A good set of NiMH will hold up very well, but will need to be "topped-off" if not used for more than a week or two. Getting a *GOOD* NiMH charger cannot be stressed enough. Buy good batts and a crappy charger and you'll get crappy results due to uneven charging/discharging. Individual charging circuits are a must.

I have been very happy with my LaCrosse BC-900 charger. Provides a geek like me with plenty of information on my cells' health.
