Hi Don

The camera will _NOT_ work without a card. usually it won't even let
you make the "click"... Anyway, i use the CF cards with the Canon
system i have and the most effective value/cost is the 1G cards. it's
pretty cheap here. the 2X512 is a good option also. if you shoot alot,
i would suggest you to get 2X1G SanDisk Ultra II or Extreme III (those
are the cards i use for their speed and ability to work in different
temperatures).
