Bill is right; I was definitely profiled. To be fair, it was May 2002,
and there were rumors of a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge on
Memorial Day, and I was taking pictures of the UN from across the
river. But it was still scary as hell to have 2 cop cars startle me
and have them tell me to come over. They were none too friendly at
first, although they figured out in about half a  minute that I was no
threat. And to most people, there's no discernible difference between
an Indian and an Arab anyway.

You should move to Canada. According to one of our politicians, Osama is a Canadian name........ Do you really think it was fair, in a supposedly free country, to suffer police intimidation based solely on your skin colour?
