I omitted to mention that the particular party that I made reference to was 
held in a public park and there were also non-associated children in the mix, 
plus really simply didn't get introduced to many of the parents. Many were not 
that well known to the mother of the birthday girl, a lot were "play-group" 
parents, the family knew me of course.

I agree that we should exercise our rights but I'm also not prepared to tempt 
fate and drop myself into a potentially compromising position either. A lot of 
parents are un-realistically paranoid and I don't look like an innocuous grand-
parent (at this stage thankfully).
