I certainly like my DS, and have said so many times before.
As for all the dissing and depression on this list, it unfortunately
happens on other lists as well. I was a subscriber to one of the largest
Nikon lists for awhile, and it was also flooded by doom and gloom scenarios
from people with nothing good to say about the future. I suspect that this
sort of thing happens on all the camera lists and forums.
I think there should be one centralized forum for all the photographic
pessimists out there. All the hand-wringing and predictions of doom should
be done that centralized forum, where it will be properly appreciated.
