the Samsung/Pentax press releases say that next fall, we will have an
announcement of a roughly $2K body. if the Nikon D200 comes in at
about $2K instead of $2.5K, its capabilities are going to be the
benchmark of comparison. i figure that Pentax can match the 10
megapixels because Samsung has no real choice if it wants to provide
competitive sensors, but i'm not so sure of frame rate and AF
performance. if the D200 comes in at around $2.5K, then Pentax
doesn't have to be as high spec.

But some do, and for those people it would be nice to have the
choice. Anyhow
it will be mildly entertaining to see who here actually embraces an
updated
DSLR assuming that actually Pentax manages to deliver one inside the
next
decade, thank dog for archives.
