Bruce, cropped version really improves this image.
I would still, however somehow get rid of the foreground lump. It doesn't do anything good IMHO.

I have cropped it more like a pano to provide the emphasis that you
describe.  As to perspective, I'm a wimp, I was already as low as I
could go without sprawling out on the sand (just getting ready for a 4
hour drive home with no place to clean up).  Reflections would have
been very nice, but the sun was not at an angle that I could do much
more.  On top of that, these were some of the birds that the dog I
previously posted was chasing.  So they weren't there very long at
all.

As I watched these little fellows walking along, I couldn't help but
think of a tour in a museum or building, where the guide is saying
'We're walking, we're walking...' - I just chuckled.
