Thanks Ken. I doubt that the valet was involved. He was just out of
touch and overworked. But one never knows. And I'd say the
investigation is over. I think the police just tend to give up
immediately on auto theft cases. By the time they get it on the hot
sheet, it's in a chop shop.

Sorry to hear this Paul.
You think the valet may have been involved?

Subject: OT: Stranded in Chi-Town
What a weekend. I drove to Chicago to move my daughter from my
mother's house to an apartment on the north side. All went well and
we were finished by late Saturday. After dinner at Heaven on Seven
(great place), I decided to stay overnight and took a room at the
Congress Plaza. Big mistake. While I was checking in, someone stole
my car (2005 Jeep GC) right from under the valet's nose. Gone. I'm
sure I'll never see it again. It probably went under the torch within
an hour after it was nabbed. So I was left with no way to get home on
a weekend. After many calls to insurance weekend hot lines and rental
companies, I finally secured a car that the insurance company would
okay as a rental loaner and drove back to Detroit. Just arrived a
little bit ago. Lost a lot of stuff in the car, but, thankfully, none
of my cameras were in the vehicle.
