I've not used a D50, but a D70 viewfinder is very small. And the digirebel XT is even smaller and darker. It's _almost_ tempting for me to buy a used Canon D30, and an M42 adapter, to use my old screwmount glass. I'm not sure how good the viewfinder is in one of those though.
Maybe put the $1000 away somewhere, add a little bit month by month, and make a decision when you have a bit more money? -Mat =========== I haven't switched over from the Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) to the 350D (Digital Rebel XT) because I've read the viewfinder is terrible. Worse than the 300D by quite a bit. Like looking through a long hole. And the resolution is not that much greater. OTOH, it's hard to find new D300s anymore. Marnie aka Doe
