Hey listers.....
I'm the latest guy to join your group.
A work/study in the college photo-lab/graphic arts (20+yrs ago) gave me
the photography "bug"... & I've been a die-hard PENTAX fan since.... or
maybe I just like to cheer for the "under dog". <g>
I'm near Detroit, MI, USA
I have:
a ME-Super with:
SMCP-M 50mm f1:1.4
SMCP-M 28mm f1:2.8
AF-160Sa flash (resembles AF-200SA)
ME-II winder
Pentax "eveready" cases, lens cases & Pentax gear bag.
a Program Plus with:
SMCP-A 50mm f1:1.7
Pentax/Cosmicar A-70~200mm 1:4
Vivitar A-28~105mm 1:3.5~4.5
Kiron 2x converter
AF-280-T flash
AF-400-T flash
SMC -1.0 diode adaptor (shots without eyewear)
ME-II winder
Pentax "eveready" cases, misc lens cases & gear bag
AF 1.7x adapter (when I bump my head & go AF).
All bought new & are (still) in such a great condition that the folks in
Colorado invariably wants to KEEP my stuff ... "We'll send you a NEW
camera". yaright.... thanks, but no thanks... get it off your desk &
SEND IT BACK, please. lol
I'm thinking of upgrading, but spending $500-700 on some plastic AF
(Pentax ZX-5N/Nikon n80) piece of junk doesn't sound like a smart move.
So instead, I'd like to *aquire* a NEW Pentax LX body or a LX 2000 kit
gathering dust on some shop keeper's shelf .... but I can't find anyone
living in Japan (that I trust) or a camera shop that speaks English/deals
with on-line purchases.
....... which is why I joined the list. I heard from some Aikido-Digest
members (in Japan) that Pentax announced they are discontinuing the LX,
totaly.... GONE. Buh bye LX.
Can anyone comment/help??
And while I'm here.... has Pentax fixed the "bugs" from previous, older
LX's yet (sticky mirror etc)?? (MY APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE... I'm sure the
listers has beaten this horse till it's nothing but a grease spot). <g>
And given the renewed interest in LX's, has someone come up with a website
with "decoded" serial numbers (years so&so serial number was issued) to
help people figure out just how OLD that immaculate, used, LX actually
is???
Thanks
Scooterman
