Hi Francis ... Any lens Pentax ever made will work with the K body, even old screw mount lenses with the appropriate Pentax adapter. However, newer lenses, like auto focus lenses, won't be able to use all their high-tech features, and they'll have to be focussed manually. But they'll fit and they'll work.
As for a choice of prime lenses, price and speed might be important considerations. Here are a few suggestions without regard for price and speed: SMCP 24/2.8 SMCP 28/3.5 SMCP 35/3.5 SMCP FA 43/1.9 Ltd SMCP 50/1.4 or SMCP-M 50/1.4 SMCP FA 77/1.8 Ltd SMCP 85/1.8 SMCP 105/2.8 SMCP 120/2.8 SMCP 135/2.5 SMCP-M 150/3.5 SMCP-A*200/2.8 Hope this helps.
