You can buy high-quality, good condition, used 17" LCD flat panel displays for $300-500.
Godfrey ========= I KNEW someone would recommend a LCD anyway. :-) Maybe my laptop is nothing to go by, but it's a pretty good laptop, and the display gives me a headache. I don't like the mat effect etc. I also invested in a Spyder fairly recently, which is unnecessary for a LCD. Nevermind. It turns out the 17" CRT is the ONLY one that HP is currently selling. So I'll look at it in the store and see what I think. Also, $200 is my top price. This is an unexpected expense, so I can't go any higher. I've already reached the limits on my budget on a new Canon lens. Thanks anyway, Godfrey. Marnie
