I've not yet managed to merge my manual film database and my digital image management, I don't know if I will, they are very different beasts, my film system was always sloppy. The fact that each digital frame is assigned a number automatically is a godsend though I'm a little disappointed that the count only proceeds to 9999 before it resets. That said it's not yet become a problem as yet. I use ThumbsPlus to manage my image files and as always only add to the original file name when I edit it's very easy to search on-line and off-line media for a file name then make a visual match. > Obviously, this isn't directly applicable to digital. You can use embedded IPTC/NAA information to store information regarding location and subject in any image file then search or sort using any of those embedded criterion if you are using any capable image database.
