Ken Rockwell the master of the "hands on" hardware review, (in which he admits that he's never even seen the hardware). He hasn't the wit to realize what a bombastic blowhard he is, and is so full of himself that he doesn't understand that the objection to his nitwit "hands on" reviews is that he completely misrepresents himself. In addition he has absolutely no sense of humor, IMNSHO, which makes his writing style incredibly funny, or it would be if there weren't people who actually took him seriously.

The camera's only job is to get out of the way of making photographs.

Ken Rockwell, Your Camera Does Not Matter, 2005

Your equipment DOES NOT affect the quality of your image. The less time and
effort you spend worrying about your equipment the more time and effort you can
spend creating great images. The right equipment just makes it easier, faster
or more convenient for you to get the results you need.

Well it isn't put quite the way I would say it,
but I pretty much agree.

Put, I hope, in a better way - no amount of fancy
expensive equipment
will make someone holding a camera a photographer,
and there are a lot
of striking images taken with throw-aways, holgas,
point and shoots,
etc.
But is this the guy who otherwise has been saying
a lot of stupid stuff taht we have been
joking about?
