Actually I agree, thought the 28-200 is much better on an *ist-D than it
was on any film body, (mostly due to the 1.5x crop). Unfortunately my
*ist-D needs a trip to Pentax repair so that I can use the green button
again, (DOF preview is pretty much shot too). I'm more or less stuck
using my "F/FA" lenses, that's not much of a burden when the FA 20-35 is
appropriate, still I don't have quite the selection of equipment
available under current circumstances. I'll just have to bite the
bullet and send it off soon.

Hi!
I've resolved just yesterday to, take the 28 - 200 out of my camera
bag and box it up and put it in the garage. While it's a fairly good
lens for snapshots, I am getting more unenamoured?? with it as time
goes on. It's just not sharp enough for serious work.
I'm going to need a 200 or 300mm prime. I have the 200mm M but I
would prefer AF.
It is more or less exactly my sentiment... I am getting more and more
frustrated with my F 70-210, though it is probably better than 28-200
at compatible focal lengths...
P.J. please take no offense, but I am afraid that rather excellent
opportunity was not taken proper advantage of, and not because of a
photographer, but because of the gear...
