True story: Last year I was out shooting with another list
member. He was carrying a PZ-1p and a BIG Tokina 80~200/f2.8
ATX zoom lens. I was using an LX and a K105/2.8. At one point
we were approached by a couple of guys who purported to be
professional photogs. They immediately started talking to
Raph about his lens, and asked if he'd like to shoot some
sports stuff and possibly get paid. At no point during the
conversation was I addressed, nor did anyone ask Raph about
his qualifications or experience. His "professionalism" was
assumed solely because of his big lens. When the guys left
Raph and I had a bit of a laugh and went on about our
business.
