An amateur is one who engages in a task for the love of the task. The
literal root of the word amateur is the latin ama - love.

What's a professional camera? It's a camera you earn money with.
Simple as that. Many pro photogs I know use F5s. Many use F2s. Many
use the nearest light tight box with a lens attached they could grab
this morning when the call came to get some photo of a celebrity.

Now I've sold pics taken with MZ-5, PZ-1p, Seagull 6x6 TLR and Pentax
6x7. Are any of these professional? Of course they are. They've
earned me money. Are they amateur? Of course they are - many people
who use these don't earn money from them and just use them for the
love of it.

Do what Pentax does and ignore the pro/am label and just use whatever
you want to use.
