Looks like either the detent ball and/or the spring is lodges somewhere
and preventing movement. Remove the aperture ring using appropriate
force! Try jimmying it from two or three points simoultaneously (an
assistant would be useful. Better is a small model-makers vice. Either
way, that ring must be separated again to retrieve spring and ball -
watch for those suckers as they can go into low Earth orbit ;-)
