I like having an external HD because I can unplug it from my desktop
machine and plug it into my notebook and have easy access to the same stuff
I take my pictures off the camera and immediately copy them to a folder
on my internal drive and a folder on the external drive. Every so often
I go through and back them up to DVD. (Used to back them up to CD. This
was before the *ist D and Raw files ... )
Two copies of each disc. Minimum. Special projects are copied to
specific discs as well.
