Even more convenient are the IDE to USB2 adaptors.  Even uses the USB
port to power 2.5" drives.  They cost about $25 with an external power
supply for 3.5" drives.  They allow you to hook up drives without
opening up the case or to a notebook that does not have additional
pata connections.
