I've been looking for Sigma APOs for some time and found a nice one on eBay, a 70-300 APO Macro AF. I placed a bid of £55 with AuctionSniper and about an hour before the auction's end got an email telling me my bid was too low. I clicked the link provided for the purpose and raised the bid to £65. To say I was pissed off when the lens went for £58 (a bid that had remained *unchanged* for about an hour) would be putting it very politely. I complained and the replies I've been getting from the AuctionSniper support people are less than satisfactory. Like Finland's worst ISP Sonera, they seem unable to admit there might be something wrong their end.

The awful chromatic aberration of an very expensive Schneider 360mm telephoto I had for many years made me very much aware of the problem. But a few years ago I got a Sigma 5.6/400 APO and the images are very clean. That was my reasoning.

Bugger!
