Why not?


Because the sensor is moving. It could then move outside the coverage of the lens if the lens coverage is not larger than the sensor.


They´ve got a patent application specific for the case where the sensor is outside the image circle .-)

Also, the DA lenses are mostly for wide angles. The DA40mm does cover FF and the 16-45 too above a focal length (does anybody know about the 50-200?) and thus the required movements of the sensor is small.

Not sure about the 50-200, but the 18-55 covers 35mm from 24mm on.
