I agree John. It would seem to me that if the major intent of this quick
release was to get to market quickly, nothing would be changed except the
nameplate. Why waste money doing the engineering for removing features?

I think we'll have to wait until somebody here has actually
tried the Samsung camera before assuming too much about the
supposed differences. I think it's quite possible that the
same 'green button' trick (with the AE-L button, I believe,
on the DS) could still work. The normal operation of the DS
could be described as not stopping down the lenses during
metering; maybe there's just a simple misunderstanding here.
