Sunny - Go into the store, find one you like, take notes... then go to craigslist and say you want one and don't care if it is not pretty, as long as it is (whatever one you like brand/size) or go to ebay and pounce when the pouncing is right. the guys are right - no sense having a tripod if it isn't sturdy and comfortable to use...and unless all you shoot are "Theraultian blur" street shots, you need one :) annsan semi lurking
