Cotty, The reality is much scarier than many might think.
You would be surprised in how many places your "sensitive" information is stored. If you have received 1-2 credit cards in the last couple years, and pay for your cell phone monthly, I am ready to bet there are at least 50 instances where your information used for obtaining the credit (i.e. sufficient for applying for yet another credit card) is stored. And this is a _very_ conservative estimate. I cannot speak for the UK, although I heard the situation is somewhat similar to that in the US. Take a look how often and what companies that handle your sensitive and/or financial information are compromised: http://www.attrition.org/errata/company.html There are more scarier things that will soon become a (wide spread!) reality in a few years: http://news.ft.com/cms/s/ec414700-9bf4-11da-8baa-0000779e2340.html Igor Wed, 15 Feb 2006 12:38:42 -0800 Cotty wrote: This is amusing but a little bit too close to the bone for comfort. <http://www.madville.com/link.php?id=127244&t=24>
