So any more details? Was this disc regularly handled, and if so by the edges or with a finger through the centre? Where did the fungus start, from the centre or the edge? Has the disc ever been bent or otherwise physically stressed? What type of container was used to store the disc? > This led me to think, can we get a digital file onto film in some way? Film recorder, they are slow but quite inexpensive these days, some can deliver up to 8000 lines and write to a variety of film formats.
