Luis, the *ist-D will do you just fine. It's slightly less specified than
the DL in some ways, but is a better camera to handle, and it will certainly
feel right after the MZ-S, IMO.

Subject: which camera to buy?
Good morning. I finally made up my mind about buying a digital. Basically,
I didn't need one before and now, since I would like to get myself a job
in a newspaper, a new camera will come handy.
I have a Pentax MZ-S, a FTZ500, a 28-105mm, a 50mm, a 80-320mm, all
Pentax. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me about
choosing a correct camera for my needs. I have been reading about two
cameras, particularly the *istD and *istD2. I tried the *istDL the other
day, it didn't "feel" right. I was amazed by the price difference between
the models. What is it that makes the *istD more expensive? The
viewfinder? The focusing system? Which camera would be best for me in the
long run? A large LCD would be a plus, but not necessarily.
Thanks for your patience
I would like to have a camera just as good as my good old MZ-S, but
digital. I am interested in Portraits, Music, Documentary and Street
Photography, but I understand that if I do get a job as a photojournalist,
fingers crossed, I would be covering
a wider range of subjects.
