Mike, I'm butting in here just to say that all I did to see the next

Sorry, not being clear. If I've looked at one picture and know I don't want to look at the next but want to move further along the gallery, I have to go back to the start. Just a little niggle.

Thanks to all who commented!
I find it very interesting which ones people liked most, especially

because they barely overlap at all.

I agree that the BBC contest would be a long shot, but I just

wanted to
see what you thought. If only my birthday was in August instead of February then I would be able to enter in the youth category, which

would make things a little more optimistic.

I have great suspicions about that. When I see 12 yearolds producing

perfect pictures with about £5000 worth of camera equipment, I have
to wonder how much parental involvement there is.

You're right about it being hard to get original bird shots. Fortunately the BBC contest has two categories just for them so

they are
not competing with more overworked subjects.

I think yours score on the "environment with a bird in" level rather than pure bird portraits.

I'm sorry you didn't like the layout. I took great pains to make it

like
that because I thought it made a nicer and less cluttered

presentation,
giving more focus to the individual photos, and was at least an

attempt
at originality. I would be interested to hear other people's

opinions on
this, if they have any.

I don't mind it so much - it is more irritating that, after looking
at one picture, you go back to the beginning of the gallery each time.

Bob Shell,
I don't know what to say about that. I'm looking at in Firefox from

my
PC and it seems to be working fine although when I was poking

around
with it I did notice some odd things in the script that PS had

generated.

My apologies for not replying to you all individually but it takes

me so
long to to get out one e-mail that the prospect of trying to send

five
on the same day is rather daunting,

Thanks again,
Francis
