And you're complaining about a few seconds or minutes.... when it used to take at minimum an hour, if not a day or multiple days to get film back?

Shame on you. ;-)

Subject: New SD Card Arrived - Joy & Disappointment
Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 17:36:55 -0800

Hi gang ...

A few hours ago the Big Brown Truck stopped to offload a new SD card which
I had purchased from Newegg.com a few days ago. Newegg is a good outfit to
do business with. While I've not purchased a lot of items from them over
the years, the few transactions I've had have been great, and this one was
no exception. The Transcend 1GB 80X card was priced well, communication
from Newegg was almost too much - they kept me informed every step of the
way via about five or six emails, and while the web site says it may take a
couple of days to get an item ready for shipment, the card was packed and
in the shipping queue within a few hours.

The card works fine, but I was disappointed with the read/write speed on
the computer. Investigating the situation, I discovered that different
card readers, in addition to the different USB ports on my computer, can
provide wide variance in read/write speeds. Further, TD Tune and HD Tach
each provide different results. So, while the card isn't as fast as I'd
like when used on the computer, it's a marked improvement over the slower
512mb cards I'd been using. Still, I'd like to find a way to speed things
up on the machine end.

In the camera there is a small but noticeable decrease in write time to the
card, but there seems to be a big boost in how quickly the buffer is
cleared. I was able to shoot continuously for fifteen shots, with a shot
about every 1 to 1.5 seconds. I didn't do any precise timings, but is was
obvious that the faster card allowed for improvement in the camera.

So, I'm pleased with Newegg, happy to have a faster, higher capacity card
at a good price, and am a little disappointed that I'm not getting the
throughput I'd anticipated on the computer side.

Oh, one last thing - while the package was shipped UPS, the shipping box
was FedEx ... had to chuckle at that one ;-))
