For most of us the equipment doesn't pay for anything. Possibly why we have a little different perspective.

Yes, such people are hobbyists and enthusiasts. Nothing wrong with that. Why complain so much then? You should be enjoying the challenge and intricacies of new developments, while exploring the joys of using the equipment you own.


Around this part of the world, such people are called professional photographers. The people who can afford to change entire equipment kits on a whim are usually professionals of a different stripe, such as doctors or lawyers.
