Hello Boris Knowing her, you probably know your self, if she'll apprecialte it. I'm sure she'll want a digital camera in order to be able to see/sjow the images at once.
If I remember correctly (my girls are 27 and 30 by now) she'll be very much engaged in role playing (assuming it's a girl). Making birthsday parties etc. for her dolls etc. If a camera can be fitted into such "games", she'll probably enjoy it. But she'll/he'll probably enjoy drawing or painting even more ;-) Boys are perhaps different. My son's favorite toy at this age was the vacuum cleaner! And of course guns, swords, cars, tractors - all sorts of machinery. I gave him his first camera when he was 7 or 8 (A Pentax Zoom 70). He never cared much for taking pictures, though. Later I bought him a Topcon SLR with 3 lenses, and even later a 4MP digital camera. He never uses any of them ;-) You should get your kid what he/she really wants. That's what he/she will enjoy the most ;-) Regards Jens Bladt http://www.jensbladt.dk -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Boris Liberman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 14. april 2006 21:16 Til: [email protected] Emne: Fatherly question Hi! Ladies and Gents, the PESO by Fred reminded me of my rather crazy idea... I am thinking of giving my daughter a camera as a birthday present for her 5th birthday. Something simple, inexpensive yet capable of taking real pictures. Do you think a 5 y.o. kid would enjoy such a gift? Any personal experience to share?
